CPC Driver Training
Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is a new qualification being introduced across the EU for all LGV and PCV drivers who are currently or would like to drive professionally. Emerald training is an approved Driver CPC centre offering both initial and periodic training to all those needing to complete the mandatory 35 hours of training before the 14th September 2014.
Initial Driver CPC
Designed for new drivers, this is where you will need to pass an initial qualification in order to gain your full vocational driving licence and qualify for your Driver CPC. The Examination includes a case study and show me tell me test. On passing your initial Driver CPC you will be required to undertake the 35 hours of periodic training within the next five years.
Periodic training
Periodic training is continuing professional development for bus, coach and lorry drivers. It carries on throughout your professional driving career – no matter how infrequently you drive. Our periodic courses run in seven hour blocks throughout the year, enabling drivers to attend five sessions in every five year period in order to keep their Driver CPC up to date. These courses are attendance only as there are no examinations involved.
